SensingPlanet Introduces Advanced Cloud-Based Sensing Platform

Sensing Planet introduces its novel cloud-based sensor platform that would support instrumentation, control and management of a sensor network on a real time basis.

This platform being very simple abolishes complexity, and empowers WSNs (wireless sensor network), in an environment suitable for control, data acquisition, safe cloud-based sensor instrumentation. It powers one sensor which can connect to innumerable instruments via a portal supporting dynamic dashboards and powerful sensing widget 1 applications. The readings from the sensor system and other data streams are collected from the connected sensors and transmitted into a huge database that can be scaled easily and is also available permanently. Notification of rules, incident management, and device control, are possible across a single sensor, or a network of sensors.

According to Jerry Gross, Sensing Planet’s CEO, the company had always concentrated on user friendly processes. A flexible platform including a drag and drop, and an online portal has been crafted which is easy to remotely access, manage, integrate and support. The company further launched API’s, which help developers to incorporate the sensing planet platform, into their legacy applications. The sensing planet is an open platform that can easily be integrated with leading industry firm products, such as Monnit, Xbee and Synapse Wireless.

Nick Mecham, Monnit’s Executive Vice President, declared that they were happy that Sensing Planet is ready to sustain the low cost wireless sensors of the Monnit WIT series. He further commented that “Internet of things,” would become a reality when Sensing Planet and Monnit’s technology are combined.

Any web browser or mobile and subscription program can give access to Sensing Planet, depending on the count of the sensors that are controlled and monitored. Device manufacturers, value added Resellers and original equipment producers can make use of the numerous options available. The platform’s dynamic service agreements focussing on security and uptime also cover the dispatch of alerts and notifications.
