Measuring Voltage with the 8 or 16 Channel Universal Input Touch Screen Data Loggers

The OM-DAQXL is an eight or 16 channel analog input portable data logger with a seven inch resistive touch-screen color display. Each input is programmable and can be configured for millivolts, milliamps, volts, strain gauge, thermocouple, thermistor, RTD or frequency. All the selections, menus, and configurations can be opened from the display touch screen. The unit also has four digital inputs, four alarm outputs, four digital outputs, one USB host port and one USB device port. The unit also has three LEDs for different indications (power, logging, and alarm).

The OM-DAQXL comes complete with protective rubber boot, 32 GB SD card, one plastic stylus, rechargeable lithium ion battery, 1 GB USB thumb drive, 1.8 m digital I/O cable, 1.8 m USB cable, AC power adaptor, screwdriver, alarm/excitation terminal block, set of 5 PTFE insulated Type K thermocouples, quick start guide, set of 5 ferrites to install on the thermocouple inputs (for noise reduction) and crimp-on earth terminal. The unit can be operated on a bench using the tilt stand or wall mounted using the given keyhole mount.

Home Screen

The home screen is the main screen of the data logger’s user interface. It is separated into three distinct sections.

Digital Display View

Status/information display: This status bar offers data such as battery charge percentage, lock/unlock data logger, system clock (displays current time and date), status of the four alarm outputs and logging mode indication.

Data Display Area: This is the area where different inputs (up to four channels) are displayed vs. time. The data is displayed in four different ways: Waveform, Table only, Waveform and Table, and Digital. In the digital view, each channel number and name are shown along with the value.

Navigation Toolbar: This toolbar gives access to all the tasks and menus of the data logger. Users can retract or extend the toolbar by pressing the Tool button.

Standalone Operation

The OM-DAQXL’s touch screen user interface (UI) makes configuring the data logger for operation straightforward and simple. Recorded data files can easily be reviewed and analyzed on the OM-DAQXL. For data analysis on a computer, just transfer the data file from the USB thumb drive or SD card to the PC and open the designated data file into Excel® or other data analysis software.
