Gas Detection in Non-Hazardous Areas - SYNTEL System

Teledyne has introduced a new addressable system called SYNTEL that is appropriate for use in zone 1 and 2 hazardous locations. The entire addressable loop can withstand faults and works normally with an open or short circuit.

The SYNTEL system does not contain a central processing unit (CPU), and hence there is no common failure point. It comprises a standard OPC interface and can also be delivered by Modbus, enabling simple integration with third-party systems.

Calibration and alarm data are stored in the SYNTEL system in distributed non-volatile memory, which means there is no need for a centralized system.

The SYNTEL is perfect for installations where there is a chance for expanding in the future. The architecture of the system enables affordable expansion as cables running to a central location are not required.
