TecMicro O2-Oxygen Sensors

TecMicro O2-Oxygen Sensors are chemical gas sensors capable of measuring oxygen levels ranging from a few parts per billion to 100% O2 by volume in ambient air or liquid, depending on the specific model.

These gas detection solutions are highly sought after in breweries, modified atmosphere packaging, head-space gas testing, bio-incubators, respirometers, and algae or aquatic applications.

Features

  • ATEX II approved for use in explosive atmospheres
  • Fast and accurate
  • Measure oxygen level in gas or liquid models
  • Measure from 0 ppb to 100% oxygen (depending on the model)
  • Optical sensor not sensitive to hydrogen or CO2

As it is all stainless steel, the TecMicro O2 oxygen Sensors can be used in clean-in-place (CIP) and sterilize-in-place (SIP) applications like incubation, brewing, or in the pharmaceutical or food processing industries. The sensor can withstand high temperatures, high pressure, cleaning agents, and anti-bacterial compounds.

Models

The following variants have a 5 VDC converter and an RS485 to USB connector, enabling direct communication between the sensor and the free GasLab software. A 1/2" fine thread connector is readily available in stock, while other connectors can be provided upon request.

Dissolved Liquid Cross Sensitivity

While the TecMicro has low cross-sensitivity (is monoscopic) to other gases, dissolved oxygen sensors can be sensitive to the following:

  • Gaseous sulfur dioxide (SO2) or chlorine (CL2)
  • Alcohols greater than 5%
  • Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) greater than 3%
  • Sodium hypochlorite (NaClO, commercial bleach) greater than 3%

If the measurements exhibit instability despite following other troubleshooting procedures, it is possible that interfering substances are present in the solution.

None of the following interfere:

  • Carbon Dioxide (CO2)
  • Hydrogen sulfide (HS-)
  • pH, or any ionic species like sulfide (S2-), sulfate (SO4-2), chloride (Cl-)
  • Ammonia (NH3) pH

Software

The TecMicro features a free software utility that enables users to graph oxygen levels over time, save data, calibrate the sensor, and update the calibration when installing a new sensor cap.

System Requirements

  • Version XP SP2 or newer
  • Microsoft Runtime Libraries for .Net 3.5
