Detection Technology Announces Rebranding of MultiX

Detection Technology, a global leader in X-ray detector solutions, announces the rebranding of MultiX. The company has rebranded the MultiX business line and its product portfolio as Detection Technology. The former MultiX and forthcoming spectroscopic single photon-counting detectors will be introduced to the market as a DT-branded multi-energy product line, marked with the ME abbreviation.

“Detection Technology is a high-quality and forward-looking brand. The DT brand resonates with our commitment to be the most trusted partner imaging the unknown. We are confident that new solutions carrying the DT name, look and feel will be well received in the global X-ray imaging market,” says Hannu Martola, President and CEO of Detection Technology.

“On the other hand, the multi-energy technology is also a perfect fit for our portfolio and the DT brand. We believe that the ME solutions targeted for high-performance applications will further strengthen the DT brand image as a technology leader in its field. We aim to be a forerunner in the multi-energy X-ray detector market with our ME line.”

The company is selling rebranded X-Card ME3 detector boards and X-IM ME3 control units, formerly known as the ME100 series, optimized for security and industrial applications that require state-of-the-art material discrimination capability yet cost-effective system architectures. X-Card ME3 enables extremely precise material discrimination of materials even when they have similar atomic compositions. Detection Technology has kicked off industrialization of its multi-energy solutions and is aiming to ramp up commercial production by the end of 2020. The DT-branded multi-energy X-ray detector solutions can now be found online on the Detection Technology website and social media channels.

Detection Technology acquired the business of the French technology company MultiX S.A. in December 2018. The acquired business is currently Detection Technology’s French subsidiary, operating under the name Detection Technology S.A.S.
