Onset Computer Introduces New Soil Moisture Sensor 10HS

Onset Computer Corporation, a major player in data loggers, has introduced a new soil moisture smart sensor named 10HS in the portfolio of research grade soil observing solutions.

Onset's 10HS Soil Moisture Sensor

The 10HS can provide precision data on average soil moisture in a given field by measuring soil moisture in a huge volume of soil. The sensor is designed with plug and play feature, which decreases the operation time, which in turn reduces the user’s time and money. The sensor can be plugged easily into the weather stations such as Onset HOBO U30 and H21 and thus eliminates the time needed for wiring and programming.

The adoptability of the 10HS with a variety of Onset HOBO weather station products gives the users an option in accessing the soil measurement of average soil variability information. The users can access the information either remotely over the internet through Ethernet, Wi-Fi, or Cellular communications, or offload the information in the field directly by utilizing a laptop or a HOBO data shuttle.

Product marketing manager of Onset Paul Gannett commented that the new sensor matches the company’s well-known EC-5 soil moisture sensor and widens the choice of monitoring applications for his company’s customers.
