Differential Pressure Sensors from AST

American Sensor Technologies is introducing the AST5400 wet/wet differential pressure sensing device also called the differential pressure transducer or transmitter for measuring line pressures ranging up to 2,000 PSI, showing 15:1 turndown ratio. These economical differential pressure sensors are configured to serve the process industry sectors.

The working of this devise is based on Krystal Bond Technology, eliminating the requirement ofO-rings,silicone oil, or welds. This MEMS pressure sensing technology entirely isolates the media to the pressure ports, preventing contamination issues. The reduced strain range on the diaphragm leads to precise and recurrent calibrations. These differential pressure sensing units having enhanced series pressure measurement potentiality can be integrated into systems, eliminating the necessity of five-mode equalization valves, saving the expenses for installation.

This devise is capable of replacing dual gauge pressure sensing units for evaluatingdifferential pressure, saving integration time, and reducing the expenses. The precision or in-accuracy, of the two sensing systems can be combined, thus enhancing its efficiency with thermal conditions.

With the technological innovations in the field of electronics, the consumers of differential pressure switches can now utilize a sensing system to detect the efficiency and applications demanding intense turn-down and enhanced cycle operation. The alarm functionality can also be introduced through most controllers, outdating the switch.

These devices monitors differential pressure through a filter, sense level in vented or sealed tank, or can measure the flow in a porous plate. The AST5400 range delivers high linearity and operation over thermal range, compensation. The electronics provide a fail-proof status on the signaling output. The transducer can be automated to display the signaling output 10% lower the minimum range or 10% exceeding the maximum output signal range to warn the user about a disorder and to shield the system from unfavorable environments. The system also provides high-sensitivity for use in different pressure ports and wetted substances.
