Barani Design Introduces New Wind Speed Sensor

Barani Design, a US-based wind sensor manufacturer, is increasing its technology portfolio for wind sensor solutions.

The company has introduced a new wind speed sensor that blends a high-efficiency electronic wind direction vane into a single compact unit.

The new anemometer, available in an innovative design, measures wind direction with finer than 1 degree accuracy and has a very high response rate. The wind direction vane comprises a 9bit magnetic sensor that can be adjusted remotely and it does not have a dead band.

The zero friction design of the new anemometer sensor’s wind vane enables high responsiveness to wind direction for precise wind direction as well as for air turbulence measurements. Combined wind direction sensors and anemometer are fitting for residential wind energy applications where they monitor wind flow rates accurately and they are comparatively economical.

The anemometer sensor package also features humidity, barometric pressure and integrated temperature sensors as a component of the Atmo series of data logger and anemometer sensor products. Other features of the Atmo line of wind sensors are their total digital intelligence and memory required for signal linearization of barometric pressure, humidity, temperature and wind speed.

The anemometer sensor suite, when connected with an Atmo software and data logger of Barani Design, can provide a wind energy appraisal solution with a unique performance ratio. The average consumers can plug-and-play the integrated solution with ease.
