The waterproof phones from Fujitsu are equipped with the smart fingerprint sensor to achieve touch-sensitive characteristics such as personalization and one-touch security. The AES1750 sensor from AuthenTec improves the security and speed of NFC-based mobile wallet transactions using highly safe fingerprint validation on Fujitsu’s three phone models listed above. This allows Japan-based users to use their mobile phones to securely and quickly complete mobile wallet transactions at over 500,000 NFC mobile payment terminals.

The head of Fujitsu’s Mobile Phone Group, Katsumi Takada stated that the smart sensors have been integrated into select models because of the encouraging feedback received. The Vice President-Smart Sensor Solutions of AuthenTec, Art Stewart stated that the AES1750 offers cosmetic appearance, durability and size required for the advanced Fujitsu mobile phones. Stewart also stated that the sensors ensure security of personal information and secured mobile commerce transactions.

The water-resistant AES1750 sensor is equipped with the TouchStone packaging technology which allows AuthenTec to provide a evenly colored flat surface. Advanced touch control functions such as turbo scrolling, full touchpad emulation and precise cursor positioning is made possible by the sensor, thus allowing mobile and smartphone manufacturers to substitute mechanical devices such as optical joysticks with considerably thinner components.

A total of 27 phone models from Fujitsu have incorporated AuthenTec’s fingerprint sensors. The waterproof docomo PRIME series F-09C features a responsive touchscreen and a rotating 3.5” screen along with a 16.3 MP camera. The waterproof docomo SYTLE series F-10C is a slim phone with 11.8 mm thickness with prism glass illumination technology. It also includes a 12.2 MP camera. The STYLE and PRIME series allow users to shoot full HD video. The waterproof docomo SMART series F-11C has a 12.8 mm thickness with customized features for the business fraternity such as a business card reader connected to whiteboard photo mode and address book.
