The sensors division at MTS System showcased the Temposonics E-Series Sensors at the recently held International Plastics Showcase at Florida. The E-Series sensors have been designed for applications that require straightforward position feedback.

The E-Series sensors featuring digital start/stop output or analog interface can be applied in metalworking and woodworking, material packaging and handling, plastics processing and molding and factory automation. The sensors offer a high degree of durability and reliability of magnetostrictive sensors for customers who do not require high performance levels by providing continuous, non-contact feedback.

The Technical Marketing Manager of MTS Sensors, Matt Hankinson stated that the economical displacement E-Series sensors meet the level of performance required by standard applications, unlike the premium features demanded by high-performance applications. The E-Series sensors allow injection molding and blow molding machine manufacturers to meet the requirements of a wide customer base.

The E-Series includes Model EL and EP position sensors in low-profile aluminum housing ideal for use in harsh industrial environments, offering simultaneous multi-position readings; the Model ER rod-and-cylinder style position sensors with retractable and extendable dual rods, and the Model EH rod-style position sensor for use in hydraulic cylinders, high-pressure washdown and valve control.

The compact E-Series sensors offer an IP69K-certified ingress protection, 10g vibration and 100g shock resistance, a measurement range of 50to 2540 mm and are operational in temperatures ranging between -40°C and 75°C.
