Methode Introduces Levelguard Sewage Pump Switch with Field-Effect Sensor Technology

TouchSensor™ Technologies, a division of Methode Electronics, Inc., a global developer of custom engineered and application specific products and solutions, announced today the introduction of the LevelGuard® Sewage-Rated Pump Switch.

The LevelGuard® Sewage Pump Switch offers pump and plumbing professionals a solid-state product for applications where effluent or sewage fluids need to be pumped from one location to another. The LevelGuard® Sewage Pump Switch offers superior reliability without the need for moving parts or for direct contact with the fluids being pumped.

The LevelGuard® Sewage Pump Switch is designed with the proprietary Field-Effect sensor technology that has been used in the recreational vehicle and marine industries for sewage tank monitoring since 2005, and in appliance, automotive, commercial and industrial applications for over a decade. LevelGuard® Sewage Pump Switches are designed to replace traditional float and electromechanical type switches used to actuate sewage pit, lift station, irrigation, underground vault, wet-well and storm water pumps.

The LevelGuard® Sewage Pump Switches are:

  • UL listed Sewage designation
  • Rated for up to 1/2 hp pump applications
  • Highly resistant to effluent solids and contaminants
  • Fabricated from rugged materials and components
  • Tested to over 1.5 million cycles without failure
  • Warranted for five years against manufacturer's defects

The new model features added software intelligence to protect property owners from external failure modes, such as contamination build-up and pump run-on, as well as provides 30 amp over-current electrical fuse protection for added safety. The new LevelGuard® (SKU Z24803PTZ) is available with a 15-foot cord that uses a piggy-back plug.

The LevelGuard® pump switch utilizes TouchSensor's patented Field-Effect sensor technology to detect water at two upper-level and one lower-level switch points. The unit is protected by a fully encapsulated housing and is easily mounted to the sump pit's ejector pipe. Both LevelGuard and the patented Field-Effect sensing technology are Underwriters Laboratories listed. Please visit LevelGuardProducts.com to learn more.
