Key Digital Partners With Compass Alliance Partners to Create Fully Integrated Control System

Key Digital® is proud to introduce its first complete system solution, Compass Control®, brought to fruition by Key Digital® and the Compass Alliance™ Partners (CAP). Compass Control® represents the first fully integrated major control system built from the ground up to use Apple's iOS devices – iPad&®, iPad mini®, iPhone®, and iPod touch® – as its backbone.

Key Digital®, in conjunction with Compass Alliance™ Partners (CAP), has created a fully integrated control system with driver support for hardware from the following brands: Access Networks, ADA, Aprilaire, Ashly, Autonomic, Boston Acoustics®, ClearOne®, Cloud, DBX, Denon, Furman, HAI, Honeywell, ICRealtime Security Solutions®, Integra, iPort®, JVC Professional, Kaleidescape, LG, Lutron®, Luxul, Marantz®, MechoShade, Middle Atlantic Products, Onkyo®, Optoma, Pakedge, Panamax, Primeview, Polycom, Request, Russound®, RCI Custom, Sharp, Sonance, SurgeX, TiVo, Vidabox, Vivotek, Wolfvision®, Yamaha, and YCD Multimdia. Combining the knowledge and expertise from the different CAP brands has allowed Compass Control® to develop into a complete turnkey for commercial control solution.

The Compass Alliance™ Partners have come together to make Compass Control® the most comprehensive control system on the current market by creating a system that has full driver integration already complete by the time the system is ready to be activated in the client's installation.

Compass Control® has the ability to control devices via RS-232, IR, or via TCP/IP. This new control system provides installers with bi-directional IR, two-way RS-232 with feedback, and two-way TCP/IP control for unlimited flexibility and maximum compatibility with new or existing devices. Network connectivity solutions are provided by Pakedge with its advanced wired and wireless routers. Compass Control® also provides control via relays and sensors demonstrating its nature as a powerful integration tool. When programming the system via the Compass Navigator® PC editor software, installers are given three separate database managers to make programming faster than traditional control systems. Compass Navigator® also enables installers to edit command code sets, which allows Compass Control® to be tailored to each and every system installation. Compass Control® is comprised of three main components: the iPad®/iPad mini®/iPhone®/iPod® touch, the KD-MC2500 master controller, and the Compass Control® Software License (KD-CSLX1, KD-CSLX4, KD-CSLX6, KD-CSLX8), which activates the system.

Compass Control's new feature, the Encompass360™ program, is the complete control and signal management under one brand – complete turnkey solution – fully connected, controlled and integrated. It delivers exactly what integrators have been looking for – an easier way to quickly install large complex systems in a few hours rather than weeks or months. To simplify this process this we have broken down the Encompass360 program into five stages: Consult, Design, Build, Integrate, and Deliver.

Recently, Jeff Rodgers from Metropolitan Music & Cinema used Compass Control for a residential installation in Carmel, IN and experienced all the benefits of our control system. Have been using Key Digital' switchers for many years, Jeff was always satisfied with the result and reliability of the company's products. This time, one of his customers requested to install a home automation system in their new residence in Carmel, Indianapolis. The family had few requirements for this installation that were a must:

  1. All the equipment was supposed to be in the basement and away from the naked eye.
  2. Entire house was supposed to be controlled via iPad.
  3. Home owners wanted easy and reliable solution.

"Key Digital products are very reliable. In the past I used switchers, which never let me down. So I thought that the combination of Key Digital's award winning home automation product, Compass Control, and known for its reliability switchers would be a great fit for this installation. I always used Key Digital products and will keep doing so in the future," Jeff Rodgers commented.

Customers were really pleased with the job done by Jeff Rodgers and his team as well as Compass Control. They said: "Compass is very easy and intuitive to use."

Key Digital Vice President of Sales, Michael Lakhter, commented on Compass Control's readiness to take on market challenges: "With the combined efforts of all of our Compass Alliance™ Partners, Compass Control® represents the culmination of our efforts to create the most powerful, most user-friendly, and most comprehensive control system available on the market today."
