Quantum Technology Sciences, a rapidly emerging provider of intrusion detection and movement monitoring solutions designed for securing energy assets, achieves and closes its targeted $4.4 million series-A funding round. The investors possess significant pedigrees in oil and gas production and include Bud Brigham of Anthem Ventures, Jim Farnsworth, chief exploration officer with Cobalt International Energy, Infinity Oil & Gas, and Texas-based investment firm McNair Group.

For over 15 years, Quantum Technology Sciences has leveraged its geophysical data acquisition, analysis, and systems expertise to serve various U.S. government customers. Quantum has served as the prime contractor for Phase III development and maintenance of the U.S. National Data Center, the Air Force system that provides national authorities quality technical analysis to monitor Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty compliance. For other government organizations, Quantum developed and delivered hundreds of tactical sensor systems for the monitoring and real-time reporting of threats. This funding round will support technology commercialization and the initial product platform’s market launch.
The company’s core technology is the first and only security solution capable of using a single concealed sensor to detect and automatically classify potential threats on land, underground, in the air and in the water. The commercial product line offers significantly greater detection ranges than are currently available on the market without needing a line of sight to an intruder, which prevents a threat from being obscured by weather, darkness, or other obstructions.
