Ceiling Mount Universal WiFi Enclosure with MIMO Antenna Introduced by PCTEL

PCTEL, Inc., a leader in performance critical telecom solutions, announced today its latest solution for in-building wireless networks. The Ceiling Mount Universal WiFi Enclosure with MIMO Antenna simplifies installation and maximizes the performance of WiFi access points. It is compatible with most access points from major manufacturers, including Aruba Networks®, Cisco®, Extreme Networks®, and MOTOROLA SOLUTIONS®.

In-building WiFi has become an essential service. However, it can be challenging to quickly install or upgrade indoor WiFi networks, particularly given aesthetic, height, and building code requirements. PCTEL’s enclosures for critical network elements address these challenges. The Ceiling Mount Universal WiFi Enclosure (SP-RCT-004-SWA6) eliminates most compatibility issues between access points, antennas, enclosures, and ceiling tiles. The enclosure’s four-inch pocket fits almost any OEM radio, with ample room for antenna clearance. The pre-installed PCTEL antenna is compatible with the latest WiFi technologies. With a 2’x2’ (600 cm x 600 cm) form factor, the enclosure fits all standard sized ceiling tiles in North America and the European Union.

“As office buildings, hotels, conference centers, and other venues work to improve the quality of their WiFi coverage, ease of installation is a key concern,” said Jeff Miller, President of PCTEL Connected Solutions. “PCTEL’s Universal WiFi Enclosure makes it easier than ever to install a network featuring the latest MIMO technology without sacrificing performance,” added Miller.

The enclosure’s Dual-Band, Ceiling Mount MIMO Omnidirectional Antenna (PCTCMI2458-6) provides great dual-band coverage for high-speed 802.11ac and 802.11n WiFi networks. With 6-port MIMO diversity coverage on both the 2.4-2.5 GHz and 4.9-5.9 GHz bands, the antenna maximizes data rates and network capacity. PCTEL’s performance critical antenna design enables consistent, high performance omnidirectional coverage from every enclosure that is installed.
