LI-COR Introduces Redesigned Pyranometer, Photometric Sensor, Quantum Sensor, and Line Quantum Sensor

For more than 40 years LI-COR light sensors have been the industry standard for light measurement. Building on this proven experience LI-COR is introducing a redesigned pyranometer, quantum sensor, photometric sensor, and line quantum sensor, all providing improved high-speed measurements with microsecond response times.

LI-COR sensors are proven performers designed for continuous monitoring in a wide variety of applications including environmental research, weather stations, greenhouses, architectural lighting and for the solar industry.

"We know it's the data that matters," says Dave Johnson, LI-COR product manager. "Our sensors have an established reputation for providing solid data in even the harshest conditions. We knew we had set the bar high for this new generation of sensors and that included engineering even more robust sensor housings and redesigning the optics of the quantum sensor for  better, more accurate measurements."

With more than 150,000 sensors sold worldwide, LI-COR is an established leader in developing technology that stands the test of time. "We have sensors that are 30- and 40-years old that are still in use," says Johnson.

"In addition to improving data ranges and quality, we factored in some changes with the practical side of research in mind," says Johnson. "The pyranometer, quantum and photometric sensors all have detachable sensor heads, simplifying installation, removal, and calibration of the sensor from platforms with complex cabling."

LI-COR is a leader in the design and manufacture of instrument systems for environmental and biotechnology research. LI-COR instruments for photosynthesis, greenhouse gas analysis, and light measurement are recognized worldwide for standard-setting innovation in plant science research and environmental monitoring. In addition, the company is a pioneer in the development of infrared fluorescence labeling and detection systems for such areas as drug discovery, genomics, and small animal in vivo imaging. Founded in 1971, the privately held company is based in Lincoln, Nebraska, with subsidiaries in Germany and the United Kingdom. LI-COR systems are used in over 100 countries and are supported by a global network of distributors.
