How to Perform LIV Measurements Using LDC 3726 Laser Diode Controller

This video shows Aaron Browning, Product Specialist, ILX Lightwave Instruments, MKS Instruments, Inc., demonstrating the LIV capability of the LDC 3726 Laser Diode Controller. The steps shown in this video are applicable to all Instruments in the LDC 3726 product range. LIV curves are essential to the characterization of laser diodes and represent the relationship between light intensity, current, and voltage.

The LDM-4405 is a low power 670 nm TO-Can laser diode with internal monitor photodiode. The LDC-3726 Laser Diode Controller is connected to this mount using ILX Lightwave manual screws, and it integrates a precision current source with thermoelectric temperature controller. The built-in three range current source offers high stability output with maximum output currents of 100 mA/200 mA/500 mA.
