Located in Orem, surveillance radar manufacturer, SpotterRF has announced the launch of the small M600C surveillance radar for wide area monitoring. The device will be unveiled at booth number 16 at the Modern Day Marine Expo held in Quantico, Virginia on September 27th.

The M600C radar consumes just 10 W of power and is capable of monitoring areas as large as 148 A in all weather conditions. The device weighs just 3.5 lbs.
Radar surveillance, until recently, has been available only to force protection systems such as the G-BOSS or the BETSS-C. However, the M600C surveillance radar has been deployed in remote combat firebases providing warfighters with round-the-clock information on threats in a 1km radius in all weather conditions.
SpotterRF is also introducing a mobile interface to provide increased usability of the M600C radar. Users will be able to view the tracks and alerts even on handheld devices. By using the mobile interface, users can view the angle, MGRS coordinates and range of the forthcoming tracks. Moreover, users can set ignore zones, set up alerts and toggle between day or night viewing modes.
The business development manager of SpotterRF, Brock Josephson stated that aim of the lightweight radar is to lessen the load that the warfighter carries, along with making the intuitive radar easy to use. Josephson added that this shortens the training period for marines and soldiers.
