The key features of T40B, a digital torque transducer from HBM are ruggedness and accuracy. It is equipped with a magnetic rotational speed measuring system. T40B is based on the proven T40 torque transducer and has a number of new features.
Rotational speed measurement is enabled by the torque flange and also the direction of rotation is monitored. The angle of rotation is measured by an integrated optional reference pulse, for example during functional testing.
Key Features
The T40B digital torque transducer is reliable and insensitive to dust and oil mist and is therefore suitable for applications in the automotive industry, such as in engine test stands.
- T40B features an output pulse count of 1024 pulses/revolution from 50 Nm to 10 kNm, encompassing all measuring ranges. The magnetic rotational speed measuring system with high output pulse count enables accurate measurement of rotational speed especially with low rotational speeds.
- The rotational speed measuring system can be used at the torque transducer's maximum rated rotational speed without restrictions based on the measuring range up to 20,000 rpm.
- The magnetized plastic ring's metal carrier is mounted onto the torque transducer's second free flange and hence is fully integrated. This considerably saves space and significantly facilitates installation.
- T40B offers maximum flexibility. The stator features frequency and voltage standard interfaces. Furthermore, the digital torque measurement communication (TMC) interface has been integrated. Hence the transducer can be used not just in standalone mode, it can also be integrated in various fieldbus-based test bench concepts using the TIM40 interface module or the new TIM-EC EtherCAT interface module, for excellent performance with highly dynamic measurements.
