SBS-1230S: Battery Capacity Tester

The only way to know if your stationary batteries will be able to carry out the specification is to examine them on a regular basis.

NERC standard PRC-005-2 necessitates that vented lead acid and nickel cadmium (NiCd) systems be discharge tested every six (6) years and valve regulated lead acid (VRLA) batteries every three (3) years. IEEE recommends that load testing of the stationary flooded/vented lead acid and NiCd stationary batteries be done every five (5 )years and VRLA batteries every 12–18 months.

The SBS-1230S constant current load banks are trouble-free and inexpensive way to carry out correct IEEE450 (Vented Lead-Acid), IEEE1106 (Ni-Cad) and IEEE1188 (VRLA) load tests.

These units are fast and very simple to set up. They exhibit the voltage, current and Ah detached from the string while testing is being done. Since this is a regular current load bank, there is no need for the user to regulate the current during the test.

These load banks come standard with several changeable stop points and built-in security to make sure that the batteries are never damaged because of over-discharging.
