The XR series of LED lights are high-speed strobe lights, capable of storing electrical energy in order to pulse LEDs. They can produce as many as 5000 Strobes Per Second (SPS). When LEDs are active, the XR256 light has a pulsed LED energy of 2000 watts.
The XR256 LED light pulses the LEDs with as many as 180 amps of DC current. It can run up to 2000 watts and has 256 mm² area of LED die. This compares favorably with a regular LED light for machine vision, which averages 3-12 mm² area of LED die, running at between 3 and 12 watts.
As soon as the LED’s die reaches an unsafe temperature, the temperature monitor of the XR series lights shuts it down. After this shut-down, there is a period of rest for the LED die, until a safe temperature is reached again.
The increased heat of the LED die depends on the LED strobe duration or time, and also on the SPS. A longer strobe time or a high SPS increases the die temperatures. The XR series can monitor the duty cycle, which safely limits the operation of the LEDs. LEDs are not permitted to run at an unsafe duty cycle so this can be very valuable.

- 14 – 14 degree
- 20 – 20 degree
- 30 – 30 degree
- 50 – 50 degree
- 80 – 80 degree
