The TeraRanger One from Terabee’s first generation Time-of-Flight technology is economically designed with a 14 m measuring range and is lightweight (8 g). The sensor is more compact than laser-based systems, a lot faster than ultrasound, and less power demanding than vision-based devices. Which Version Should Users Opt for?
TeraRanger One distance sensing platform has four models, with similar Type A and Type B sensor performance.
Type A – Terabee recommends this type of sensors for indoor settings.

Type B – Terabee recommends these sensors for outdoor applications as they are more stable in intense sunlight.

For crosstalk prevention in multiple robot environs, type A and type B sensors can work concurrently without influencing each other’s readings.
An optional USB adapter is available for standard plug and play connection to a Mac or PC. The USB adapter cable delivers power to the sensor and enables data transfer to and from the sensor. It is suitable for assessment and testing purposes and for carrying out firmware updates to the sensor. It is also a vital item if post-sales technical support is required.
For streaming distance data through an I2C bus with 3.3 voltage levels, an optional I2C adapter is available for dependable voltage-level-translation. The I2C Adapter also ensures compatibility of the TeraRanger One with Pixhawk flight controllers.
