The new Remote Methane Leak Detector – Complete Solution (RMLD-CS) from Heath Consultants offers considerable productivity gains, increased safety and time-savings.
Remote detection enables first responders and utility services personnel to rapidly scan a region for suspected gas leaks at a safe and remote distance.
The RMLD-CS is also a highly sophisticated technology. It uses the same tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy (TDLAS) technology to detect methane leaks even from a remote distance as the present RMLD version.
The RMLD-CS instrument removes the individual receiver and transceiver, integrating them into a single hand-held instrument that is portable, lightweight and rugged for the field. It allows users to detect leaks without having to travel the whole length of the pipeline, thereby creating safer surveys in hard-to-reach regions, like fenced-off areas, busy roadways, yards with dogs, and similar places that are difficult to access.
The RMLD-CS instrument works under a wide range of field conditions, such as fog, light rain and a wide temperature range. Thanks to its robust design, it can tolerate standard operating conditions and field use and added to this, its range or sensitivity is unaffected when there are reasonable amounts of dust on the window of the instrument.
The RMLD-CS comes with the following new features:
- Mobile app support
- Dual battery charger
- Replaceable and rechargeable battery
- Ergonomic housing
- Internal data logging
- Graphical user interface
- Color display
- Color camera
- Bluetooth BLE
