SMP10 Pyranometer: Measuring Solar Radiation

The SMP10 from Kipp & Zonen is a spectrally flat Class A pyranometer that integrates the Smart interface from the SMP11, the sensor technology from the CMP 11 and the low maintenance from the CMP10.

The SMP10 features an internal drying cartridge that can last for a minimum of 10 years if the housing is not opened. This considerably reduces the need for maintenance. It is possible to extend the interval for dome cleaning and optimize the measurement quality by fitting the CVF4 ventilation unit to the SMP10.

The SMP10 also includes amplified analog output and Modbus® interface, thereby offering enhanced response time and temperature-corrected measurement data. The low and wide power supply range of 5–30 VDC enables simple integration in meteorological and solar energy stations. The SMP10 is safeguarded against short-circuiting, over-voltage and reversed polarity.

The standardized output and connections of each SMP10 instrument enable the simple exchange of instruments for recalibration. SmartExplorer Windows™ software for data logging, Modbus® address setting and data display come as standard.
