OPP-M200 (PEEK Encapsulation) - MEMS-Based Fiber Optic Pressure Sensor

OPP-M from OpSens is a MEMS-based fiber optic pressure sensor that has been specifically developed for the measurement of human and animal physiological pressure. These miniature 0.20 mm OD sensors have been designed to be used specifically in medical devices, such as catheters or guidewires.

Guidewires or other similar interventional devices allow minimally invasive physiology pressure measurement. Its novel patent-pending design helps remove moisture-induced drift and reduces thermal zero shift.

The PK6 encapsulation is ideal for an appliaction that allows for a larger size, but has challenging material compatbility requirements. 

OpSens new encapsulated OPP-M is integration ready. The encapsulation could be performed on the sensor tip and across the entire optical cable in various materials and sizes. The packaged sensor helps considerably decrease the product development investment, hence reducing the complete cost of implementation and manufacturing processes.

Integrated with Opsens WLPI signal conditioning technology (patent # 7,259,862) and with the characteristic benefits of fiber optic, the OPP-M tackles the medical industry’s needs for long-term precision, repeatability, low drift, and high-fidelity pressure measurements under the existence of harsh RF, EM, MR, and microwave fields.
