Hamamatsu Launches FDSS/µCELL Plate Reader

Hamamatsu has introduced its FDSS/µCELL product, an imaging plate reader meant for the purpose of kinetic cell-based assay development, such as ion channel research and GPCR.

FDSS/µCELL Plate Reader

The FDSS/µCELL is a cost-effective solution for research institutes, clinical research organizations and biotechnology companies for introducing the advanced and accurate Hamamatsu FDSS (functional drug screening system) technology into their everyday operations. The product is ideal for laboratories that need the use of costly drug discovery instrumentation.

Designed for easy and quick operation, the FDSS/µCELL accepts plates in both 384 and 96 well formats. The product has a highly sensitive camera from Hamamatsu, which captures the images of the complete plate simultaneously. When compared to traditional scanning-based systems, this process can be accomplished with shorter readout times. Antagonist/agonist assays can be carried out using this product. The FDSS/µCELL’s software facilitates users to fix assay parameters in one protocol that can be afterward moved to an FDSS7000 for additional screening.
