Multi-Sensor Devices from FLIR for US Army

FLIR Systems declared receiving an order worth $15.8 million to supply its Star SAFIRE II stabilized multi-sensor systems.

The systems will support the U.S. Army MEDEVAC program. They will be deployed on the Army’s MEDEVAC UH-60 Blackhawk helicopters that are currently being used in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The company’s facilities at Wilsonville, OR, will deliver the systems during 2011. With multiple sensors already supporting U.S. Army operations, this contract will offer dependable imaging products, according to Earl R. Lewis, president and CEO of FLIR Systems,
