AppliedSensor, developer of chemical gas sensor solutions, has declared that Reckitt Benckiser’s Air Wick Freshmatic, world’s first automated spray device capable of releasing fragrance when unpleasant smells are identified, has been integrated with its intelligent air quality (iAQ) sensing technology.
The Air Wick Freshmatic spray device is exclusively developed to maintain freshness inside homes. The apparent quality of indoor air can be affected by fumes, smoke, cooking smells and human bio-contamination. The iAQ sensor prompts the Freshmatic Odor Detect to emit fragrance whenever repulsive smells are identified. The device also features three changeable fragrance levels.
The Director of Marketing and Sales for AppliedSensor GmbH, Heiko Ulmer stated that certain air quality detecting sensors respond to only moisture or carbon dioxide in the indoor air. However human beings interpret indoor air by its smell. He added that working with original equipment manufacturers such as Reckitt Benckiser to incorporate high volumes of iAQ technology has enabled the company to provide smart technology to the clients.
