Inductive Proximity Sensors with IO-Link

CARLO GAVAZZI is pleased to announce the launch of our new IBS, ICS and ICB Series Inductive Proximity Sensors with integrated IO-Link communications.

The IBS04 and ICS05 and 08 Series represent the ideal solution for industrial automation applications where space is limited, but long switching distance is needed. They are available in robust Ø4 mm, M5 or M8 stainless steel housings, with an M8 plug or two meter PVC cable.

The new generation of the ICB 12, 18 and 30 Series are a comprehensive family of high performance inductive proximity sensors for contactless and wear-free detection of metallic objects. They are available in durable nickel-plated brass housings, offered in three diameters: M12, M18 and M30, with an extended sensing distance range between 4 and 22 mm. They are also available with an M12 plug or two meter PVC cable.

Once connected to an IO-Link master, these sensors can be easily and completely configured; enabling additional advanced functionalities such as the detection counter (RPM) or speed monitoring.  Each sensor then becomes fully programmable and provides the means for hundreds of configurations in one single device.

IxS04/05/08 Proximity Sensors with IO-Link features:

  • IP67 Stainless steel Ø4, M5 or M8 barrel housing
  • Sensing distance from 0.8 mm up to 4 mm
  • Flush and non-flush versions
  • Output DC 100 mA
  • NPN or PNP, NO or NC or programmable

  • Up to 2 kHz (M8) or 6 kHz (Ø4 or M5) operating freq.
  • Adjustable sensing distance and hysteresis and configurable output
  • Clearly visible LED with diagnostic functions
  • Operating temp.: -25 °C to +80 °C (-13° to +176 °F)
  • IO-Link communication V 1.1

ICB12/18/30 Proximity Sensors with IO-Link features:

  • IP67 Nickel-plated brass M12, M18 or M30 cylindrical threaded barrel housings
  • Sensing distance from 4 mm to 22 mm
  • Flush and non-flush versions
  • Output DC 200 mA
  • 2 m PVC cable or M12-plug
  • Up to 2 kHz operating frequency
  • Adjustable sensing distance and hysteresis and configurable output
  • Operating temp.: -25 °C to +70 °C (-13° to +158 °F), and -40 °C to +70 °C (-40° to +158 °F) for M12-plug version
  • IO-Link communication V 1.1

The IO-Link inductive sensors were designed for use in specific markets such as Plastic & Rubber, Material Handling, Packaging and Machine Tool, providing the ideal solutions for demanding application needs.
