Lithuanian Armed Forces has offered a contract to Transas Baltic for the delivery and integration of the Lithuanian Navy Sea Surveillance Information System (SSIS). The Control as well as the Command Centre will be installed with the innovative generation of Transas Navi-Harbour maritime surveillance and information service device.
The system will help in furnishing traffic inspection, logging, traffic control in significant surveillance zones and synchronization of maritime functions involving Search and Rescue.
Apart from this Transas will be incorporating the SSIS with Fishery Ships Surveillance System also. Transas will also deliver and integrate a fully functional device encompassing the company’s software supporting the sea surveillance system along with the system modules, hardware and sensing units. The system also helps in incorporating exterior sensing devices into the SSIS and will provide guidance to the ultimate users.
The System’s functional workstations are in the Remote Sensor Sites and Command and Control Centre situated throughout the coast of Lithuania.
Transas has already been assigned a project by the Lithuanian Armed Forces in 2008 for the installation of national GMDSS solution in Lithuania.
