PulStar® Plus 95kHz for Non-Contact Level Measurement

MassaSonic® PulStar® Series Ultrasonic Sensors are transmitting modules that offer reliable continuous level or distance measurement of fluids, solid bulk materials, or pastes. These sensors are ruggedly designed, and accurately function at application ranges from 4″(100 mm) to 20′ (6 m).

All PulStar® models incorporate advanced ultrasonic technology and processing algorithms, which enables the sensors to provide precision non-contact distance measurement for applications such as process control, tank level monitoring, factory automation, or object detection applications.

False echoes caused because of structure interference are not an issue because of advanced processing algorithms. The PulStar® and PulStar® Plus are the advanced improvements to Massa’s Legacy M-300 and M-320 product lines, and are fully backward compatible with current M-300/M-320 installations and software.

The new PulStar® Series Sensors are built for easy mechanical and electronic interface to the control system of an OEM system integrator. The sturdy sensors are IP68 rated, RoHS and CE compliant, and are offered in three versions.

PulStar Series® Sensors are provided with NPT mounting fittings and come in PVDF or PVC housings for use in various environments. All models are fitted with nonstop temperature compensation to accomplish precise measurement accuracy. Other user-friendly attributes include diagnostic and monitoring outputs, coupled with protection from short circuits, over voltage, and reverse polarity.

PulStar® Series Sensors operate from 12 to 24 V DC, and provide user programmable linear outputs of 0 to 10 V DC, 4 to 20 mA, or 0 to 20 mA, which are proportional to the measured distance to the target. The output can also be equipped to function as a digital switch within zones defined by specified target setpoint distances. The PulStar® TTL model operates on UART TTL at 1.8V.

They are compatible with MS Windows operating systems, and while using RS-232/RS-485 or USB/RS-485 converters, it is possible for up to 32 sensors to be connected in parallel onto the same multi-drop communication network. This network also allows users to program their sensors remotely and read target distances for rapid integration into control applications.

All PulStar® Sensors are modifiable for sampling rate, analog output slope, averaging measurement, setpoint hysteresis, loss-of-echo time-out, and provide a software sensor transmit trigger.

Their user-friendly set up, field proven reliability, economical cost of ownership, and versatile control options make the PulStar® Series Sensors stand out over other sensors.
