Automation Technology Introduces CX-Compact Sensors with Improved Features for 3-D Scanning Applications

Germany-based Automation Technology introduces novel CX-Compact Sensors with advanced sensing heads for rapid three dimensional scanning purposes. The central unit of the device is integrated with rapid moving resolution sensing devices which offers a resolution in the range of 2352 x 1728 pixels and a high-profile 23.5 KHz frequency or 1280 x 1024 pixels resolution with a frequency of about 71.5 kHz.

They are integrated along with the entire laser electronical units into a highly condensed shielded enclosure to satisfy the necessities of the consumers. With the introduction of the GigE Vision and the CameraLink standards, two main common connections can be accessible for the CX-Sensors. The installations of these sensing units into the major applications are easy due to the compatibility of the sensing heads with the GenICam-module.

The Gigabit Ethernet module can also be achieved as an intelligent camera with 1GB memory for the storage of images. The sensor head elements are fabricated based on the Scheimpflug principle for ensuring highly accurate calibration results across the entire process. With the advent of HDR-3D technology, intensity of the resolution of the images can be strengthened to a maximum of about 90 dB with high performances in this range. This will even allow the 3D inspection of the surfaces that exhibit irregular reflectivity.

These compact devices can even be coupled with numerous other imaging tools for helping the integrators to opt for their desirable tools for various development stages in the application processes thus saving many integration methodologies and programming for the 3D imaging technology.

Upon completing the integration process the sensing heads provide fail-safe operation since the sensor and the laser are integrated in a robust light-weight anodized aluminum housing which is IP 64/67 certified.
