Wenglor Unveils Ethernet-Enabled Sensors for Industrial Applications

Wenglor, Germany-based sensor expert, has devised a wide range of sensors having integrated live Ethernet applications, enabling easy integration. The intense bandwidth of the Ethernet provides speedy data communication, and remote alignment of the sensors.

Wenglor’s prime Ethernet communications include reflex sensors with background suppression, transit time sensors, barcode scanners and image-processing vision sensors. The interfaces are made available using IP67-shielded M12 connectors.

Ethernet Sensors

The sensing units are operative under three models of industrial Ethernet namely, EtherCat,EtherNet/IP, and Profinet and provide the choice of employing Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) technology for data transmission and  for UPS (uninterruptible power supply) operations, providing enhanced security to the connected systems.

Web servers integrated in the Ethernet sensing devices will enable their configuration even without using extra software. Users can design the products and process the data from any part of the world by means of a Web browser.Wenglor also provides connection boxes for integrating high-quality sensors with digital I/O into the three Ethernet systems for industrial applications. Besides this, the midspan adaptors deliver voltage to Ethernet solutions employing PoE, or incorporate them into the prevailing networks deprived of PoE.

Ethernet switches are also available for fragmenting a single Ethernet wire into numerous lines; for adjusting the elements to the preferred network topology. The switches are obtainable with or without PoE.
