Embedded Fan to Keep Camera Sensors Cool

Sensors in some of the cameras from Sony are overheated leading to constraints on their deployment.

Nikon's Sensor cooling fan for cameras

Nikon has an answer to this problem and has filed a patent for a cooling fan to be introduced in these cameras.

The solution reveals a camera featuring no mirrors featuring vents or holes on the sides and an internal cooling fan. The technology resembles the one used in laptops that also overheat on continuous use. The device is a common feature in cameras used for security and night-vision, infrared cameras and Deep Sky Imager cameras. Nikon will announce the launch of a mirrorless camera in April this year.
