Macro Sensors Introduces BB Series of LVDT-Based Dimensional Gaging Probes

Macro Sensors has revealed a new series of LVDT-based dimensional gaging probes. The BB Series LVDT-based Dimensional Gaging Probes have been developed to provide accurate measurement of dimensions for various inspection equipment, industrial metrology and quality control applications that can be used for servo-loop positioning systems, manufacturing process control and online parts inspection.

BB Series Dimensional Gaging Probes

The BB Series of Gaging Probes is offered in four models including pneumatic, soft touch, half bridge and full bridge and can be used in medical, aerospace and automotive manufacture to gain a better control over the dimensional parameters of products.

The LVDT gage heads can accurately calculate the position of the target surface. Whole system assembly for ¡°go/no/go¡± inspection of intricate mechanical parts can be achieved by mounting numerous gage heads on suitable fixtures.

The BB Series of LVDT-based Dimensional Gaging Probes provides an unparalleled repeatability of 0.15 §Ù (0.000006¡±). This is achieved by reducing core skewing and radial play by integrating an AC-LVDT featuring a ball bearing assembly. Errors caused by additional transducer, such as stiction, mechanical hysteresis and friction is eliminated by the use of an LVDT for sensing of probe shaft displacement.

The key features of the spring-loaded LVDTs are decreased susceptibility to changes in temperature, contamination prevention due to covering of the probe shaft by rubber bellows, positive stops to avoid mechanical damage caused by continuous overstroking and user-adjustable pretravel. The BB Series are available in ranges of +0.200¡± (+5.0mm), +0.100¡± (+2.5 mm) and +0.020¡± (+.5.0 mm).
