AGT International to Construct of Intelligent City in Liaoyuan City

AGT International has been selected as a long-term strategic partner to participate in the construction of an Intelligent City in Liaoyuan City, in the Jilin Province of China. This is another important measure taken by Liaoyuan city, following its selection  by MOHURD (the People’s Republic of China’s Ministry of Housing & Urban Development Department) as “Pilot and Demonstration City for Intelligent City Construction”.

In phase one of the contract, signed in conjunction with The People’s Government of Liaoyuan City and Datang Mobile Communications, AGT International will integrate Smart Traffic Management and a SafeCity project, using its Urban Shield platform, which provides a Graphical User Interface and a 3D map of the city.  Urban Shield will provide a single situational awareness picture for License Plate Recognition, Public Security VMS (Variable Message Signs), Public Healthcare VMS, Urban Management, and Emergency Management and Traffic VMS systems. As part of the agreement, AGT International will also provide expertise and support in showcasing the Intelligent City to the Mayors and city managers of similar sized cities in China (between 1 and 2 million in population, of which there are over 400 in China), at a specially designed demo center at the site.

AGT International’s existing solutions, of which the officials from Liaoyuan City received a demonstration during the selection process, include real-time traffic monitoring and forecasting tools, historic sensor data, and advanced analytics to provide decision-makers with dynamic alerts and recommendations that enhance drivers' safety and the effective management of traffic-related events. Such technology sits together on one city-wide platform to enable a collaborative approach to the day-to-day management of the city and any events that occur. As a result, authorities can ensure more efficient situation management and decision-making. Discussions about the second Phase of cooperation, which will see further development of the Intelligent City Solution including the addition of advanced analytics and improved performance and applications, will begin in December 2012.

Wei Qisheng, Municipal Standing Committee Member and Executive Vice-Mayor, commented: “We are delighted to bring AGT International’s pioneering solutions in Liaoyuan City. By implementing this technology, we will be able to share our learnings and accelerate the development of intelligent cities in China. Applying such solutions is essential to efficient urban growth, the careful management of resources and the wellbeing of the citizens of the city.”

Mati Kochavi, Founder and CEO of AGT International said: “We are honored to be selected as the long term strategic partner of the city of Liaoyuan.  This is a special statement because Liaoyuan is the city selected by the People’s Republic of China’s Ministry of Housing and Development to become an intelligent city.  AGT International is committed to working with the city in delivering the intelligent city vision that will benefit local businesses, municipal authorities, and the wider population.  This contract and the establishment of a WFOE agreement, not only allows us to showcase the technology and vision in Jilian, but also expand AGT International’s scope to the three Northeast provinces and Inner Mongolia.”
