Expanded Capabilities with CTi 3M and CTi 4M
The CTi 3M is tailored for metal and secondary metal processing, offering a temperature measurement range from 30 °C to 1500 °C. The starting temperature of 30 °C of the CTi in the 3MXL version is a unique innovation on the market and
significantly increases the usability of the new pyrometer. Operating at a short 2.3 µm wavelength, it reduces errors caused by changing emissivity and achieves exposure times as low as 110 μs. Its compact sensing head (14 mm × 28 mm) withstands ambient conditions up to 85 °C without cooling, making it an ideal choice for fast processes in confined spaces.
The CTi 4M addresses applications requiring high-speed measurement at lower temperatures. Operating in the 2.2–6 µm mid-wave range, it measures from
0 °C to 500 °C with ultra-fast exposure times of just 110 µs. This makes it particularly suitable for monitoring ceramics, oxides, and other materials with unknown or variable emissivity. Both models feature a two-piece design with multiple analog and digital outputs, including Modbus, Profinet, and EtherNet/IP, ensuring seamless integration into automation systems.
CTi LT hot: Reliability in Harsh Environments
The CTi LT hot is built for extreme conditions, operating in ambient temperatures up to 250 °C without additional cooling.
Covering a scalable range from –50 °C to 1050 °C, it is optimized for use in dryers, ovens, furnaces, and heat treatment lines. Its robust stainless steel housing minimizes thermal gradients and withstands rapid temperature fluctuations, ensuring accurate readings even in harsh production environments.
“With the expansion of our CTi series, we are offering customers a new level of flexibility and reliability in temperature measurement,” says Torsten Czech, Head of Marketing at Optris. “From ultra-fast metal processing to long-term monitoring in high ambient conditions, these new pyrometers combine compact design, precise measurement, and versatile connectivity – making them a strong value proposition for industrial users worldwide.”
