50,000 Gas Detection Instruments Registered in iNet

Industrial Scientific is pleased to announce that more than 50,000 gas detection instruments are now on iNet®. iNet helps companies around the world keep their workers safe by providing visibility into gas detector alarms, exposure and usage.

The software-based service solves common challenges faced in gas detection programs, such as time-consuming maintenance tasks; lacking visibility into the field to know that instruments are being properly used; frequent and unforeseeable costs of ownership throughout the lifespan of an instrument; and more.

With iNet, users dock gas detectors owned by Industrial Scientific on the iNet DS docking station, which performs maintenance tasks such as bump testing, calibrations and recordkeeping. iNet Control, a Web-based application accessible from any PC Web browser, then provides users practical insight about the instrument and about the organization’s gas detection program as a whole. If iNet detects a problem, real-time alerts are sent to Industrial Scientific and replacement monitors are rushed to the user, if needed.

“We know it’s simply not enough to arm even every worker in dangerous environments with a gas detector. iNet is a complete gas detection program that delivers reliable instruments and painless service while also reinforcing safe behavior in the field,” says Justin McElhattan, CEO of Industrial Scientific. “We are excited about the momentum that iNet is seeing in the market and the immeasurable value that it continues to provide to our customers.”

Customers do not have to buy gas detectors with an iNet subscription. Instead, they receive Gas Detection as a Service for a monthly fee.
