Robbins added that the monitoring device doubles as a trainer for cardio workouts by providing intervals of 30 seconds to motivate and challenge the user, simultaneously helping to improve the cardiovascular endurance and heart rate recovery. The heart rate recovery is calculated based on the rate at which the heart rate drops in periods of recovery i.e during rest and intervals, a function that is performed by the heart rate monitor.
