Temperature@lert - Advanced Computing and Transmission Techniques for Environmental Monitoring

Sophisticated Sensor Cloud methods patent establishes Temperature@lert’s advanced computing and transmission techniques for cost-effective, innovative monitoring of critical environments.

Boston, Massachusetts, October 11, 2012 – Temperature@lert announced today the approval of its patent application in support of company’s flagship product, the Cellular Edition wireless sensing system.  With cost-effective, easy to install and use hardware coupled to Temperature@lert’s advanced Sensor Cloud technology, the Cellular Edition has become the standard by which all other products are measured.

US Patent 8,248,252 describes the machine-to-machine (M2M) technologies key to Temperature@lert’s cost-effective data transmission and advanced algorithms developed for the Temperature@lert Sensor Cloud.  The sophisticated software design employed takes data transmitted by each Cellular Edition device, whether it is connected to one or multiple sensors, and analyzes it for high or low thresholds set by the user.  Excursions above or below these levels trigger alerts in the form of an email, SMS text or voice phone message to one or more recipients, letting them know when the environments they are monitoring are being threatened by extreme heat, humidity and a host of other conditions.

Through the Temperature@lert Sensor Cloud, customers can immediate see the status of all the devices in a customer’s network and the current status of each.  Users log onto secure servers where they can access the data logs from their wireless monitoring devices whether they are deployed next door protecting valuable vaccines or across the country in a remote ski lodge.  The landing page displays current conditions, letting Temperature@lert’s customers know everything is running smoothly or if there is a problem and which device is sending the alert message.

Unlike traditional wireless sensor devices, the Cellular Edition employs major cellular service provider networks, so if the customer’s device is in a location that experiences a power outage or traditional communications failure (internet or land-line telephone for instance), the Cellular Edition keeps on reporting for up to four weeks thanks to powerful built-in litium-ion batteries.  Advanced AC PowerSensing and HealthCheck features make sure the user is notified not only when the sensor is recording an out-of-range reading, but when the device senses AC power is interrupted, providing an advance warning of potential problems, or when the unit has not checked in due to cellular connectivity problems, for example.  The advanced computing methods keep customers protected when traditional wired and wireless methods fail.
