MAVEN Team Completes Post-Launch Power-On of Spacecraft's Electra Ultra High Frequency Transceiver

The team operating NASA's Mars Atmosphere and Volatile Evolution (MAVEN) mission successfully completed, on Feb. 19, 2014, the initial post-launch power-on and checkout of the spacecraft's Electra Ultra High Frequency Transceiver. This wraps up the initial checkouts of all payloads on the MAVEN spacecraft, with everything performing as expected.

The Ball Aerospace & Technologies Corp. Global Precipitation Measurement (GPM) Microwave Imager (GMI) successfully launched on NASA's GPM Core Observatory satellite from Tanegashima Space Center, Japan at 1:37 p.m. EST on Feb. 27, 2014. The satellite flew onboard an H-IIA launch vehicle.

Raytheon’s Second VIIRS Instrument Enters Testing Phase, Completion in 2015

Raytheon Company has manufactured and integrated all required subassemblies in completion of a major milestone for its second Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite, which will fly on the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Joint Polar Satellite System-1 spacecraft. The integrated sensor is now entering testing, on track for delivery in 2015.
