ZMD Launches Level Shifter and Line Driver IC for Factory Automation

ZMD has released a level shifter and line driver IC having a high-voltage I/O interface satisfying the physical layer necessities of actuator and sensing systems for factory automation purposes.

The ZIOL2211 is operative and is pin-compatible with the ZIOL2401, however, does not have intelligent power and master functionality. This feature facilitates the architects to confine only on their actual necessities, thus saving the expenses.

The IO-Link drivers are entirely programmable, and ranges from slew rate and current configurations to diagnostic characteristics. The ZMDI's current IO-Link solutions are also compatible with the ZIOL2211. By deploying the same development and IC protocols for the entire serial I/O helps saving the time, reduces marketing duration, and permits the fabricators to deliver a successful structure to a novel solution.

The ZIOL2401 lab and starter kit can be applied for all ZIOL2xxx ICs. The application kit features an evaluation board and a Windows-enabled set up tool, having a USB connection between the board and PC. The manufacturers can rapidly assess the arrangements and can save the results.

An in-built system programming is enabled by means of SPI, providing complete customization after the fabrication. The devise is functional at temperature ranging from -400 C to 850 C. The IC is available in a compact 4 x 4 mm QFN24 enclosure, with an open die paddle for optimization of the thermal distribution.
