Applications and Functions of Point Level Sensors

A point-level switch or indicator triggers an alert when the contents of a container reach the device. It is connected to a warning system, light, or control panel to signal when levels are too high or too low, or to initiate or halt a process.

By alerting to overfills or underfills, a point-level indicator quickly pays for itself by reducing the need for cleanup, avoiding material contamination, or minimizing waste from incorrect batch sizes.

Key technologies for measuring point levels include rotary switches, capacitance and vibrating probes, rods and forks, diaphragm switches, and tilt switches.
