The HypoSense serves as an online analyzer for chlorine content in bleach.
- Easy to install – Using an optical measurement technique, the HypoSense directs light into a sample, and the degree of light absorption directly correlates to chlorine concentration. This design facilitates straightforward inline installation within a flow-through fitting
- Easy to use – In processes demanding precise knowledge of bleach chlorine levels, such as Monochloramine (MCA) production, the HypoSense offers user-friendly operation and optimal control. It enables users to accurately match the hypochlorite dose with the MCA ammonium precursor through feed-forward control, a feature integrated into the CRIUS®4.0
- Easy to own – Any operation needing a specific quantity of chlorine in bleach stands to gain from a HypoSense. Its ownership is notably simple due to calibration performed directly from the CRIUS®4.0's front panel, integrated temperature compensation, and the absence of user-serviceable components

Principle of Operation
OCl– absorbs light at a specific wavelength, with the degree of absorption inversely proportional to its concentration.
This phenomenon applies to all light-absorbing chemicals in water and is described by Beer-Lambert’s Law.
In the HypoSense, light passes through the sample; less light reaching the detector on the opposite side of the light source indicates a higher chlorine concentration in the sample. Integrated temperature compensation further improves accuracy when temperature fluctuations occur.
