Yokogawa, a Japan-based test & measurement and automation & control solutions provider, has announced the development of three field wireless system devices, along with the improved versions of their temperature and pressure transmitters.
The wireless system devices as well as the pressure and temperature transmitters are ISA100.11a-certified. It is a wireless communication standard approved by the American National Standards Institute for the field of industrial automation.
The wireless system devices include the field wireless management station, field wireless access point and the field wireless media converter. They can be used in the construction of large scale plant networks as well as be incorporated in medium- and small-sized networks that utilize Yokogawa products. The products are likely to be released next month. The advantage of a wireless network is the reduction of installation and cabling costs. Furthermore, it enables for the installation of equipment in inaccessible locations.
The new Yokogawa field wireless system devices are provided with a backup device that can be implemented in the event of a hardware failure of broken communications link. This ensures continuous communication with the field wireless devices while the problem is being rectified. The new devices provides scope for the extension of the plant wireless networks as it can manage ten times more field wireless devices as compared to YFGW710 field wireless integrated gateway developed for wireless network systems.
The YTA510 temperature transmitters and the EJX-B series pressure transmitters have been enhanced with a detachable remote antenna that can be mounted in another location to expand the communication range.
