Since 2008, the company is distributing the Quantum Sniffer QS-H150 in Mexico, where it is deployed daily for a wide range of applications for e.g. airport security services. According to a report released by the Massachusetts Office of Investment and International Trade, in 2006 the estimation of Mexican market for the security services and equipment is about $1.2 billion. The report also states that trace explosives detection will have a superior prospect in the security service industry.

The Quantum Sniffer QS-H150 explosives trace detector is a portable device that functions based on ion mobility spectrometry (IMS), which identifies and detects trace quantities of a wide range of commercial, homemade, and military explosives. The QS-H150 does not use any radioactive material, its novel self-clearing and self-calibrating design requires minimal maintenance and offers increased operational availability.

Bruce Bower, Senior Vice President of Implant Sciences’ Sales and Marketing stated that the company’s worldwide sales network will continue to produce the sales momentum, which it seeks. Bower added that with the substantial distribution and shipment of its detection systems to Asia and Middle East, the company is delighted to supply the additional QS-H150 trace explosive detectors into a strategic growth industry, Latin America.
