The Coriolis Mass Flow Meter for Measuring Mass Flow Rate and Temperature

The FMC-5000 Coriolis Mass Flow Meter is built according to the Coriolis Force Principle. It is extensively used for flow measurements and custody transfer in a number of industries such as petrochemical, petroleum, pharmaceutical, chemical, food and dairy, pulp and paper, and more. As an advanced flow and density measurement tool, it is extensively used in the measurement of gases, liquids and slurries, and has a high reputation among customers worldwide. Coriolis meters are commonly used in applications like blending, batch control, dosing, filling, process gas measurements, custody transfer and more.

The FMC-5000 Series Coriolis Meter is built according to the principle of Coriolis force. Under the alternating current effect, the electromagnetic coils mounted on the measuring tube will cause two parallel measuring tubes to vibrate at a certain fixed frequency. Whenever mass (either gas or liquid) flows through the measuring tubes, Coriolis force is produced, causing a “deflection” or “bending” in the top of the tubes. This deflection is detected as a phase shift between two electronic pick-ups mounted on the tubes. The degree of phase shift is directly relative to the mass flow within the tubes. The mass flow rate can be measured by detecting the phase shift of the tubes. Likewise, the temperature is measured and used for compensation.

  • Mass flow rate, density, volume, and temperature measurements
  • Rugged meters with no moving parts results in minimal maintenance
  • No flow conditioning or straight pipe runs required, making installation simplified and less expensive
  • Accuracy over a broad flow range from a single meter optimizes plant efficiency
