Solution

Highly precise Resolver- or Linear Displacement Transducer (LDT)-based sensor packages in rugged mill-duty housings. These sensor packages are designed to generate positioning data that is both reliable and accurate by reading the actual side guide position rather than the drive mechanisms that actuate them. By ignoring machine backlash, accuracy is improved.

The LDT’s mill-duty housing allows it to be mounted directly onto the side guide itself, while protecting it from the heat, water, and mechanical damage present near the rolling process. Additionally, all of these systems are easy to install and compatible with the host computer.
