Billion Electric, Intraix Partner to Conclude National Smart Energy Metering Project in Singapore

Billion Electric (TSE: 3027), the leading provider of Smart City and IoT (Internet of Things) solutions in Asia Pacific, partners with Intraix, a Singaporean tech startup dedicated to the development of Smart Home Energy Management applications, to assist NEA (National Environment Agency) on facilitating the national policy of restricting carbon emission on home appliances through an effective intelligent energy management solution.

A total of 1,500 Billion Smart Meters (SG3015) and 700 Billion Smart IoT Gateways (SG6200NXL) have been deployed for a Singaporean Energy Metering Project starting from 2015. The project was initiated by NEA with the goal to acquire an in-depth understanding of electricity distribution within a household environment by monitoring the power consumption and the percentage of electricity supplied to different home appliances such as air-conditioner, refrigerator, and lighting.

Billion SG3015 and SG6200NXL can transform energy consumption into readable data and provide analytic reports based on current and historical usage trends. Billion SG6200NXL can support multiple Zigbee, PLC, and RS485 devices concurrently and serve as a powerful hub enabling IoT communication in small-to-medium commercial and industrial applications with maximum availability of environmental sensor integration and I/O controls.

Through the combination of Intraix's Klug Mobile App and Billion's Smart Meter & Smart IoT gateway, home users can enable remote control through Smartphone App with advanced scheduling based on different time and dates. Central administrators can distantly track the energy usage activities and the productivity of a variety of home appliances. Home users can be notified of any abnormal event such as equipment malfunctions and excess power instantly through SMS/email to identify the fundamental roots of power failures.

“Our cooperation started in 2011 when Intraix was sourcing for high quality products to leverage and build its Klug Home solution. Intraix was exhibiting at the InnoVEX hall during Computex 2016 and invited to a personal interview talking about their experience using Taiwanese products. Together we can ensure each electricity expense is used at the right place and the right time to optimize power efficiency and further enhance a smart living environment,” said Jason Liao, Product Manager of Billion Electric.
