IDEX recently announced the expansion of its wide-ranging portfolio of fingerprint solutions by launching a new series of glass and ceramic touch sensors ideal for mobile applications.

The new fingerprint sensor solutions, introduced by IDEX, a key developer of improved fingerprint solutions for huge markets, are based on IDEX’s silicon-based Cardinal architecture with improved imaging performance in order to replace standard coating by sensing through ceramic and glass covers. This new range of glass and ceramic sensors has been developed in collaboration with CanvasBio.

Our newest form factor sensors offer the sleek look and feel of glass to mobile OEMs, which are increasing relying on glass to strengthen the industrial designs of next generation smartphones. Intended for front mounted mobile applications, IDEX’s glass and ceramic sensor solutions combine an elegant cosmetic solution and strong biometric performance at a very competitive price point. We are confident this expansion of our touch fingerprint sensor portfolio will continue the commercial momentum we have built in the mobile market.

Dr Hemant Mardia, CEO of IDEX ASA
