Improved SMART Contact-Less Position Sensors from Honeywell

Honeywell has declared the introduction of its novel second generation contact-less linear position sensing units to their SMART Position Sensor series. The improved 225mm SMART position sensing system is capable of detecting the direction or location of a magnet with respect to a sensor in the range of 0mm to 225mm.

SMART Contact-Less Position Sensors

The SMART (Superior Measurement, Accurate, Reliable, Thinking) system is widely deployed in industries by virtue of its flexible, long-span and weight-less configuration. The uncomplicated, contact-less pattern of this device restricts mechanical errors, lowers wear and tear, enhances safety and life, elevates the effectiveness and operational security and functions rapidly. The dual analog or digital output options in the device can be utilized in the control systems with 57.6kbits/s baud rate having a RS232 interface. The device precisely monitors the analog readings in the range, down to 4mm and digital reading with 0,0035mm range.

The flexible, contact-free configuration of the specific position sensor avoids the necessity of unimportant interfaces for the process of installation thus lowering the time, cost and elements needed for the installation process. The device can be easily integrated by following only four simple procedures whereas other devices need a maximum of 14 installation steps.

Due to the lack of mobile components in the sensing unit, the sensor is tightly packed, ensuring resistance to shock, high-temperature and vibrations.
